Below Deck Down Under star Jason Chambers is clearing up a few things.
He really didn’t expect all the attention he received at BravoCon in Las Vegas last month.
‘I wasn’t prepared for it, that’s for sure,’ Chambers – who recently admitted he’s 50 not 39 – told The Messenger during a promo even for Acuvue contact lenses, admitting, ‘it did catch me off guard a little bit.’
And after a run-in with Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent, 33, got tongues wagging, he got specific about the kind of woman who could win his heart.
‘I live in a remote area,’ he explained. ‘I am underwater. I’m adventurous. My partner would have to be someone who gets their hands dirty and gets into it and wants to see the world and travel.

He continued: ‘But I have my daughter, that’s first and foremost. And I have my foundations that I’m doing. There is a time, and I think that time is coming, that I would like to search for someone to start sharing things with.’
Chambers has a daughter, Saskia, eight, with his ex-wife Fuchsia Quinn.
Chambers’ photo with the Give Them Lala author went viral, prompting Real Housewives stars Brynn Whitfield, 36, and Ashley Darby, 35, to reveal their crushes on the yacht captain.
And while Lala has a standing invitation to join him on one of the yachts he captains – as long as she pays for her trip – Chambers admitted his life is very different from his fellow Bravo stars.
‘We’re in a different environment,’ he told the outlet, referring to the Below Deck cast.
‘It’s actually kind of a little bit of something different for us. It’s very usual for them, but it’s very out of the box for us.’
Being from Australia and living life largely at sea doesn’t give Chambers and his fellow Below Deck castmates the time to sustain strong relationships.
Over the summer, the Bravolebrity told Daily Mail Australia that his ideal partner would be ‘someone… very independent and secure in their own situation. So that’s difficult to find.’

He went on to say his ideal partner is someone who can help him be ‘better’ and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. ‘Like someone who makes me get out of bed and do some exercise. Which I love doing, but sometimes I can be a lazy a**,’ he said
‘So, freediving, adventurous and healthy, and make me better at that because I want to be better at that as well,’ he concluded
‘Someone has got to be acceptable for what I’ve got going on which is my daughter and my work moving around. So they have to have their own thing going on.’
